Danielle Outlaw is the current Chief of Police for the Portland Police Bureau in the state of Oregon. She was appointed to the post in 2017. Chief Outlaw has a BA in Sociology from the University of San Francisco and a Masters of Business Administration from Pepperdine University. She began her career in the Oakland Police Department as a patrol officer, also serving in the Office of the Chief of Police, the Criminal Investigation Division, Internal Affairs, and the Office of the Inspector General. She was promoted to Deputy Chief 2013. During her time as Deputy Chief, Chief Danielle Outlaw focused on the issues of Race and Policing, Women in Law Enforcement, De-escalation and Investigation of Use of Force, and Building Community Relationships after Controversy among others.
