Rose Likins

Rose Likins is the ambassador to Peru. She is a career foreign service officer who joined in 1981 after graduating from Mary Washington College. She has served throughout Latin and South America including Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, and El Salvador. Ambassador Likins was the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Political Military Affairs at the State Department from2003 to 2006. In 2006 she became the Deputy Director of the Foreign Service Institute and Dean of the Foreign Service Institute's School of Professional and Area studies. She served in these roles until 2010 when President Obama nominated her for ambassador to Peru.
