Sheryl Sandberg is the Chief Operating Officer at Facebook where she is responsible for running business operations, including sales, business development, and communications. She has also served on its board since 2012, the first woman to do so. Prior to this she was Vice President of Global Online Sale and Operations at Google, where she was involved in launching the philanthropic arm of Google, google.org. She was named to the Time 100 most influential people in the world in 2012. While attending Harvard University, Larry Summers became her mentor, and while he was Treasury Secretary, she was his chief of staff from 1996 to 2001. She has also worked at the World Bank and McKensey & Company. She sits on the boards of The Walt Disney Company, Women for Women International, and The Center for Global Development.
