Brigadier General Joanne F. Sheridan

Brigadier General Joanne F. Sheridan is Assistant Adjutant General - Army, Louisiana National Guard. She guides the formulation, development and implementation of all programs and policies affecting the Louisiana Army National Guard and its 9,500 Citizen Soldiers.

General Sheridan graduated from Northeast Louisiana University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology in 1983. She received her commission through the Reserve Officer Training Corps in 1983. Her military career began on active duty from February 1984 through September 1988. General Sheridan was appointed in the Louisiana Army National Guard in October 1988 serving in various command and staff positions throughout her career. General Sheridan deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2008 where she served as the Director of the Project Management Office on the Task Force to Improve Business and Stability Operations in Iraq.
