Major General Carol A. Lee

General Lee was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and graduated from Cornell University, N.Y., in 1975. She was commissioned through the Air Force Reserve Health Professions Scholarship Program in May 1975. She completed medical school, internship and residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Md., and a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.

The general entered active duty as an internist-gastroenterologist in July 1984 at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska. She has also served as a gastroenterologist at David Grant Medical Center, Travis AFB, Calif. She left active duty in June 1988, and joined the Air Force Reserve with the 940th U.S. Air Force Clinic, 940th Air Refueling Group, Mather AFB, Calif. As a traditional Reservist, General Lee has served as Chief, Clinical Services; Chief, Aeromedical Services; and Commander, 940th Aerospace Medicine Squadron. In her civilian occupation, she works as a staff gastroenterologist at a prominent medical center in Sacramento, Calif.
