Following career experience in community mental health, employee assistance programs and corporate training and development, Dr. Titterington resumed her education through completion of her Ph.D. and made the transition into academia.
Along with her position on the College of Criminal Justice faculty, Dr. Titterington serves as a consultant to the National Institute of Justice, is a reviewer for several criminology/criminal justice journals and is a member of the editorial board of Homicide Studies: An Interdisciplinary & International Journal. She has previously served as a Research Associate for the Texas Regional Community Policing Institute Domestic Violence Project, a Consultant to the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas and a Consultant to the Harris County Community Supervision and Corrections Department.
Dr. Titterington’s research interests include sociological analyses of violent crime, health and aging. Sources of her funded research include the National Institute of Justice, National Consortium on Violence Research and the National Institute of Mental Health. Dr. Titterington’s present research focuses upon cross-cultural and gender-specific analyses of lethal violence. Her research appears in publications including Criminal Justice Policy Review, Violence against Women, Journal of Research on Crime & Delinquency, Public Health Reports, and Homicide Studies.
