Brigadier General Maria E. Kelly is Assistant Adjutant General - Army, Ohio National Guard, and also serves as the Commander, Special Troops Command, Ohio Army National Guard. General Kelly assumed these duties on October 1, 2011, and commands many of the units responsible for enabling readiness in the Ohio Army National Guard.
General Kelly was commissioned in 1988 through the Reserve Officers' Training Corps program at Ohio University. She has commanded at the detachment, battalion, garrison, and brigade levels. General Kelly currently commands six force generating elements under the Ohio Special Troops Command. These organizations include the 147th Regional Training Institute, Recruiting and Retention Battalion, Fort Ohio with three garrison commands, Detachment 21 (Operational Support Airlift), Medical Detachment, and Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, Joint Force Headquarters.
