Brigadier General Roma J. Amundson

Brigadier General Roma J. Amundson serves as the Assistant Adjutant General-Army for the Nebraska National Guard in Lincoln, NE. In this assignment, General Amundson is responsible for the overall supervision of the 3,800 Nebraska Army National Guard Soldiers to include strength management, officer assignment, training oversight, readiness, and family support concerns. She also chairs the Special Emphasis Program Group, Ground Safety and Aviation Safety Committees, and is president of the Senior Service School selection boards and promotion boards. She advises the Adjutant General on issues pertaining to education, training, and utilization of Nebraska Army National Guard forces and represents him and the command group when necessary.

General Amundson received her commission from the Nebraska State Officer Candidate School program at Camp Ashland, Ashland, NE on 30 May 1980. She has commanded at the Detachment, Battalion, and Brigade levels. General Amundson commanded the 67th Signal Detachment, 67th Infantry Brigade (M), Selective Service Detachment (NE STARC), 2nd Battalion, 209th Regional Training Institute, and the 92nd Troop Command.
