Rear Admiral Sandra L. Stosz

RDML Sandra L. Stosz, is the superintendent of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, the first woman to serve in this role as well as the first female graduate to be promoted to Flag rank.

Prior to this position, Stosz served as Director, Coast Guard Enterprise Strategic Management and Doctrine, responsible for aligning strategy and management functions and enhancing support operations.

Stosz has experience at sea, including command of two vessels, an icebreaking tug on the Great Lakes and a cutter that patrolled North Atlantic and Caribbean waters.

She and her crews executed many missions including drug and alien migrant interdiction, fisheries enforcement, search and rescue, polar and domestic icebreaking and ports and waterways security.
