Rear Adm. Paula Brown

Rear Adm. Paula Brown, a Washington native, graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of the Pacific, Stockton, California, and was a direct commission to the Civil Engineer Corps in July 1982. She reported to active duty in Washington D.C. from October 1982 through December 1986. Brown affiliated with the Navy Reserves in 1988.

Her command tours include commanding officer of Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 18 from 1999-2001 when the battalion was awarded the Pacific Battle E, and commander, First Naval Construction Regiment, Port Hueneme, California, from 2003 -2005. Mobilized as the commander, 30th Naval Construction Regiment (rear) for seven months in Pearl Harbor with the Pacific Seabees, and then served as commander, 30th Naval Construction Regiment (forward) in Iraq from September 2005 to March 2006.

Returning from her Operation Iraqi Freedom deployment, she became the commanding officer, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, contingency officer in charge of construction, then served as deputy chief of staff for Engineering, commander Naval Forces Korea. Brown served a six-month active duty tour as vice commander, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Pacific in 2009. Her first flag officer assignment was as the deputy commander, First Naval Construction Division. Her current assignment is deputy commander, Naval Facilities Engineering Command and deputy chief of the Civil Engineers.
